LinuxConf [ZA] 2019 is a conference aimed at the Linux and Open Source community within Southern Africa. It provides anyone working on or with Linux and Open Source tools & applications, or with a passion for Open Source development, to discover new trends, network with like-minded individuals, irrespective of whether the attendees are developers, system or database administrators, or anyone else working with Linux and Open Source applications.
Topics covered at the conference will range from Linux Kernel and OS, Linux Distributions, Containers, Virtualisation, System Administration, Open Source Applications, Networking and Development Environments.
This year we will also be including NetConf, a new network conference, as part of LinuxConf [ZA] and have a separate track of talks focussing on networking.
LinuxConf [ZA] takes place in the same week as PostgresConf South Africa, the PostgreSQL database conference, and PyConZA, the Python programming conference.

LinuxConf [ZA] 2019 takes place in Open Source Week along with PostgresConf South Africa 2019 and PyConZA 2019, so head over to their sites and look at their schedules too.
Monday, 7 October is the main conference day for LinuxConf [ZA] 2019 including NetConf. There are 4 tracks of talks and two sets of side-events.
NetConf has a full-day tutorial session and there is a special hackathon event run by Umuzi on Tuesday, 8 October 2019.
There will also be a workshop day on 9 October 2019 with workshops for all three conferences.
All rooms are accessible and there is a lift to the 1st floor, with the exception of Gala A and B, which have a few steps and no ramp.

For those flying in for the conference, you can use the Gautrain from the airport to Rosebank station and either take the RB3 Illovo bus to The Wanderers Club/Wanderers Protea Hotel or take an Uber/Bolt.
Accommodation is available at the Wanderers Protea Hotel adjacent to The Wanderers Club, or at any of the nearby hotels, guest houses or airbnb's.
